What types of emergency breakdown can Optima Retail fix?
The service covers any incident that affects how a retail store operates: electrical faults, HVAC and heating failures, plumbing problems, emergency locksmith work, damage to fixtures or structural elements, and lighting. If a breakdown stops your store from trading normally, we manage the call-out quickly and efficiently.
How long does it take for an engineer to arrive after an emergency is reported?
We commit to being on site within a maximum of four hours from when the job is logged. Jobs can be logged by phone or through the client portal, and from that moment they are assigned to a coordinator who manages the engineer’s dispatch and follows up until the job is closed.
Is the service available on bank holidays and weekends?
Yes. The 24-hour emergency service operates 365 days a year, without exception. Whether your fashion store has a breakdown on a Saturday afternoon or a pharmacy needs urgent help on Christmas Eve, the response protocol is activated in exactly the same way.
Who pays for repairs in a leased unit where I run a store?
It depends on the terms of your lease. In the UK, many commercial leases are full repairing and insuring (FRI) leases, under which the tenant is responsible for most repairs, while in other leases the landlord retains responsibility for the structure and common parts. In practice, many retail chains choose to centralise emergency management with a facilities management provider to guarantee a fast response, however the cost is recharged afterwards.
We recommend reviewing your lease and taking legal advice for each specific case.
Can you respond to stores in different countries?
Yes. Optima Retail centralises retail facilities management worldwide. If your chain trades in the UK, Europe, the Americas or other international markets, we can manage emergencies through a single point of contact, coordinating local engineers to the same service standards in every country.
Does the 24-hour emergency service include any follow-up after the job?
Yes. Every incident generates a digital job ticket that is recorded in the store’s history. Once the job is closed, the account manager has access to the full report, which makes it easier to analyse recurring faults and make decisions about planned preventative maintenance so the same issue does not happen again.
